Have you ever driven one of those before?

friends don't let friends drive British (except maybe Lotus) lol and that is from a family that has had a few MGB's including a 1963 MGB and a 1980 MGB and a 1967 Sunbeam Alpine. All of which are WAY better than a Midget.

When I was looking for my current car, I had a chance to test drive one of these thinks. Let me tell you, for someone who ended up getting a Miata, this thing is small. I mean small. I mean really small .

It's tiny, is what I'm trying to say here. I'm not exactly a tall person. I have to slide the seat forward a few notches on my Miata. But when I tried to get in this thing, I felt like Chris Farley doing his "fat guy in a little coat" routine from Tommy Boy .

It's definitely a weekend fun car, but I could see myself getting bored with it rather quickly. An MGB or a Triumph Spitfire? I could totally see myself owning one of these things, but I took the Midget around the block, parked it, wiggled my way out of it, and told the owner I'd think about it.

Also, these things rust like crazy if you get it anywhere near salt.

I wasn't actually seriously considering this though, haha.

Stop. Do not ever even consider buying a rubber nose MGB. This post-1975 version is supposed to be like half the car it was before. It's not just uglier than the earlier editions, it is heavier and has a lifted suspension (both because of the 5mph bumpers), which makes it slower in a straight line and worse in the corners.

Anyway, because you're in the States, and the engine in these got weaker and weaker by MY, because of smog regulations, the earlier the better.
